Theater lovers, event supporters, local media, and community leaders gathered in Walnut Creek on Saturday October 2nd for the premiere return of Diablo Regional Arts Association’s On Broadway Gala at the Lesher Center for the Arts.
This year’s annual outdoor fundraising gala featured a red-carpet cocktail hour with wine provided by Wente Vineyards among an array of art deco décor throughout. Walking in with grace, I felt like an Old Hollywood Actress wearing a elegant satin gown by Sahara & patent designer heels. In addition, I couldn’t help but up the glamour with a stunning pair of deco rhinestone earrings, an over-the-shoulder black fur stole and the reddest lips c/o Tom Ford Beauty.
As the crowd began to take their seats, announcements where made while a well curated three-course dinner courtesy of Barbara Llewellyn Catering was served. During the first & second courses performance by Max von Essen and The Honey Taps, began to set the ambiance of the evening.
For many, On Broadway Gala is more than an annual affair, its a fundraiser event that supports and raises funds to support the Lesher Center’s arts-education and artistic excellence initiatives. This year’s event, exceeded their goal earring $250,00 through the support of the fabulous sponsors and donors that attended. Not to mention, Tyler Gordon a 14-year-old commissioned artist and the evenings special presenter raised $10,500 during is a live auction of one of his paintings completed live on stage.
The evening continued with a particularly special media collaboration I had conducted with Diablo Regional Arts Association for their 2022 Headliners.
