While 2020 has been a year exhibiting an economic shutdown by the COVID-19 crisis, thousands ill from the virus and many uncertain of what tomorrow will bring, how can anyone even see any love through all of this? If that was your first thought you had, then you are missing what this pandemic is taught us.

For each and everyone of us we all have adjusted completely differently as no one has the same perspective, but what if there is just one new attribute, we should take from all of this – what would that be? It is the affirmation of speaking words of joy and abundance. You might be thinking to yourself, but Doris things are a mess in the world there is nothing but uncertainty and lack everywhere. I would simply reply you are wrong. If you see the world that way the universe only knows to give you more of that thought you desire. Everything we say each word is an affirmation of what we feel to be true and becomes ours future.
Wise words bring many benefits, and hard work brings rewards.
Proverbs 12:14
Today draped my namesake, grandmothers vintage Gabardine Wool ‘Lady Scott’ blazer, the same one that she worn on her wedding day with my grandfather (here). As I reflect on humanity and love through these challenging times I think of her. She was a woman that spoke only love, never did she say a word of negativity about anyone or anything. She cared from her heart and if you gave her 3 minutes of your time you would feel a sense of warmth from within. My first embrace with love with through her, it’s also where I learned how to give that same love to others. It’s been nearly thirty years since her passing a bittersweet moment, however I know she rest on my shoulders and is settled in my heart.
This week I uploaded (yet another) a new episode of 𝒟𝑜𝓈𝑒 𝑜𝒻 𝒟𝑜𝓇𝒾𝓈 on my YouTube channel (here) expanding on this very subject of spoken words of abundance. I am a firm believer you are the architect of your life and if you don’t allow your ego or emotions to dominate your reality you are worlds ahead from others to creating a world of your own.

Everyone knows at least one person who can walk into a room and it lights up and
brings a sense of empowerment and positive inspiration. I am sure you know who that person is, and you are already aware they are a blessing. Just think of them and their presence as a spark that ignites warmth like a sweet touch on the forearm. You are always happy when they are around, you feel your energy rising and you long for their words of inspiration.
“You are the light of the world. A city lying on a hill is unable to be hidden.”
What if I told you that the person, I just described above attracts a tribe of other lightworkers which all have similar characteristic. When you break down their traits you will find that all of them have not had an easy life, they have had their fair share of heartbreak and defeat. For them they have taken it and like the proverbial phrase states, make lemons out of lemons, and used it to encourage optimism and a positive can-do attitude in the face of adversity or misfortune. They take every set back and see the glamour, a message I have spoken since my diabetes diagnosis nearly 6 years ago.
On this week’s episode of 𝒟𝑜𝓈𝑒 𝑜𝒻 𝒟𝑜𝓇𝒾𝓈 I share how you can be the light as it all starts with us. I invite you to watch the entire episode and start shining bright, click here to watch now.

Have you stared at a rainbow in the sunlit sky before? What you might have captured is that a rainbow has many colors some brighter than others, but never dull always true and authentic.
The question lays on how you can be more authentic to your true self and not a slavish follower of social expectations. The very first thing you must do is love yourself and accept yourself for all your flaws, past failures, and mishaps. You must stop and realize everything starts and finishes with you and at the end of the day you are fully responsible for your words and actions taken. We all have the right to not do what others would expect of us and do what we feel to be right.
“Dare to love yourself as if you were a rainbow with gold at both ends.”
To be or live as an authentic person you must ‘show up’ as your true self despite what others might say or feel, you are being you. It takes courage to say no to someone or make decisions for yourself without knowing what the outcome will be. One of our deepest fears as humans is to feel inadequate.
Think of being authentic as wearing a mask that dulls your own light and provides you no benefit to shine true to your individual colors. If we can overcome our fears and drop what or who we should be this is the day we will experience freedom at its highest level.
